The EDUCAUSE 2015 conference was held October 27-30, 2015. I didn’t have any ideas for a “Why we aren’t there” video. Shortly after noon on Wednesday October 28, a giant 242-foot military blimp called the JLENS broke loose from a Maryland military base, and floated around for a couple hours before landing 160 miles away in rural Pennsylvania. The blimp footage was all over the news that afternoon, so I decided that I’d create a video that tied our absence at EDUCAUSE to the JLENS blimp story. I had the video completed, published, and Tweeted out on Thursday the 29th, one day before the EDUCAUSE conference wrapped.
